Dataset

Access to mass public transport, survey (250-350m)

The dataset contains the results of an extensive study of the pedestrian accessibility to the communications of public transport on the territory of Sofia, presenting the distance belt between 250 and 350 meters. The data is a polygon geospace layer (MultiPolygon), which outlines the areas located at a pedestrian distance between 250 m and 350 m from the nearest ITT station calculated on the street network. For each polygon, the initial and final boundary of the belt shall be contained in metres. The layer represents the transition area of access . The areas immediately beyond the most comfortable walking range but still within acceptable proximity to public transport. Unlike the detailed survey on individual stops, here the zones are united (collapsed) into a common layer for the whole territory. It is suitable for visualization of maps, levelling of coverage of the public transport network by zones of distance, identification of border areas of transport services, urban and transport planning, as well as for research in urban mobility. The data is current as of 01.04.2019.
